Résumé
En s’appuyant sur l’exploitation des données du Panel des bacheliers 2014, cet article s’intéresse au parcours dans l’enseignement supérieur, durant les deux premières années, des titulaires d’un baccalauréat technologique. Pour dépasser la dichotomie entre réussite et échec dans la compréhension des parcours des étudiants, le texte propose le concept de persévérance qui renvoie au maintien de l’engagement et des efforts dans les études. La persévérance est examinée en fonction de l’héritage scolaire, la filière d’études et la perception que l’étudiant a du contexte d’études. L’analyse secondaire des données du Panel des bacheliers 2014 permet de comparer la poursuite d’études dans trois types d’orientations post-secondaires : formations professionnalisantes courtes (STS, IUT, écoles paramédicales), licences universitaires et filière élitiste (CPGE). Le concept de persévérance permet de mieux appréhender la diversité qui caractérise les parcours des bacheliers technologiques dans les filières supérieures. La mobilisation de facteurs situationnels et de la subjectivité étudiante semble ouvrir une piste différente dans les débats sur la performance des étudiants et l’effet du contexte d’études.

Abstract
The perseverance of technological bacalaureate holders in higher education
Based on data from the Panel of 2014 baccalaureate graduates, this article focuses on the trajectory in higher education of those who had obtained a technological baccalaureate. To overcome the dichotomy between success and failure in understanding students’ paths, the text proposes the concept of perseverance which refers to maintaining engagement and effort in their studies. Perseverance is examined according to educational heritage, the field of study and the perception of their study context. The secondary analysis of the 2014 Panel data made it possible to compare the continuation in the three types of post-secondary orientation during the first two years: short professional training (STS, IUT, paramedical schools), university licenses and elitist sector (CPGE). The concept of perseverance has made it possible to better understand the diversity which characterizes the paths of technological baccalaureate holders in higher education fields. The mobilization of situational factors and student subjectivity seems to open a different perspective in the debates on student performance and the effect of the study context.
